The reason for this is that it seems to produce endorphins and the “feel good” hormone dopamine.

We went to a pub the other night, where they had karaoke, and there were so many people getting up to sing.  They were really enjoying themselves, even though many of them almost spoke the words, or sang out of tune!  Who cares?  As long as they are enjoying themselves.

I have to agree that singing must be good for you!!
I don’t know why,but I have been singing in rock bands for years and have never really thought about it.

But yes, when our band has a show coming up, I look forward to it so much, because walking out onto the stage or running in my case, (as we do a tribute to the rolling stones) and singing, gets me into the ‘zone’ like nothing else can.
Sometimes driving around in the car I notice other drivers singing along to the music they are listening to, and the one thing they have in common is they always seem to be enjoying themselves.
